HP Pavilion G6-2235us Review

The Good: A history of loyal fans that have purchased and played many hours on this loyal machine. The HP Pavilion G6-2235us used to be the smartest kid in class sporting the AMD A6 dual core 2.7 processor backed up by 4GB of RAM.

The Bad: Both the processor, RAM and graphics card, the AMD Radeon HD 7520G, have their glory days behind them. As so much in the world of technology, has their premium appeal faded. The package is the HP comes in is too large and plastic for modern standards.

The Verdict: Being one of the most popular options two years ago, make it one of the oldest and least attractive options these days. Not the best gaming laptop under 600 dollars. We would advice you to look elsewhere.

Why is the HP a decent gaming laptop under $600?

A thing of the past. The HP Pavilion G6-2235us used to be a great option and many gamers on a budget have chosen the HP to be their decent gaming laptop under 600 dollars. Those days are gone now. Both the processor, the AMD A6 Dual Core 2.7 GHz, and the graphics card, the AMD Radeon HD 7520G, have seen their best days. We except the HP to get a great discount in the months to come so that the manufacturer and vendors can get rid of their stock. We would advice you to look to other options in our comparison.

In case you are the gamer looking to play older classics such Minecraft or World of Warcraft (even the newer Mist of Pandaria) and happen to come across the HP at a great discount, by all means go for it. This gaming laptop under 600 has gone beyond the call of duty and back and shown many gamers great hours of joy. As it stands now though, there are more up to date machines to be acquired for the money. The tech available in this one, is most likely not what will get you through the latest versions of Battlefield or the Elder Scrolls Online.

What games should you be able to play?

  • On Minimum Settings: Battlefield 3, Max Payne 3, Ghost Recon Future Soldier, Deus Ex: Human Revolution, Dirt 3, Final Fantasy XIV, Red Faction: Armageddon, The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim.
  • On Recommended Settings: Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising, Crysis 1, Grand Theft Auto IV, FIFA Soccer 11, Starcraft II: Wings of Liberty, Call of Duty: Black Ops II, The Settlers 7

To Conclude

How fast things can change in the world of technology never seizes to amaze us. Two to three years ago, the HP was the top gaming laptop under 600. These days, the glory has passed. We would recommend you to look toward the #1 of our comparison. The price difference is small, yet the rewards will be huge.
