Windows Data Recovery Review

The Good: This file recovery software is a great tool to use if you are trying to recover files from a lost partition, across a network or from a computer with a new OS installation completed.

The Bad: The product is not a one-stop shop as different important aspects of data recovery has been split across various versions. This means that users have to purchase the Outlook version separately to recover emails. Also, NFTS and FAT versions have to be purchased separately.

The Verdict: The software is easy to use but it is doesn’t offer a comprehensive file recovery service as seen with other products in our disk recovery software review.

What makes Windows Data Recovery good data recovery software?

Windows Data is does a good job at file recovery as it offers more than the average deleted file recovery program. In many cases where other recovery tools fail, Windows Data Recovery provides results.  The software offers the deep scan technology which recovers data irrespective of the reason for data loss. Even when the hard drive is deeply corrupted, the software utilizes the File Tracer technology and Turbo Scan technology to recover files.  Using the program is simple and quick.

If the file has not been overwritten by new data, you can use this software to bring back files accidentally delete from the hard disk. This includes data that has been emptied permanently from the recycle bin.

With this software, it is possible to recover data from a deleted or missing partition and from reformatted partitions irrespective of file system.  Using Quick Scan and Thorough Scan (the main scanning methods) the software can recover and locate lost partitions (along with the files) in an entire hard drive.

Using Windows Disk Recovery, you can recover all your data and restore them to their original condition as they were before the files got damaged. The scan engine of the software makes it possible for the directories and sub directories to be aligned together as they were before the corruption occurred.  This includes support for files with long names.

Using the demo version of this software you can preview files before you recover them. This makes it possible for you to see the probability of recovering the lost file you are looking for before going ahead with the process.

The software works on a third-party level so there is no risk in running it on a crashed drive. The device is a read-only application making it impossible to it to write to the drive you are recovering files from.  However, to effectively use this software, you need to either install the software in a healthy drive or have another drive handy to transfer recovered files.

The software is easy to use as it features a recovery wizard that guides the user step-by-step through the recovery process from start to finish.  With its TurboScan technology and other modifiable settings, the software completes data rescue faster than most data recovery software.  Even when file records are lost (FAT/MFT), you can recover files from faulty logical drives.

When dealing with a difficult recovery situation, the File Tracer feature is very helpful.  Using the File Tracer, you can find and restore over 300 different file types. This includes word documents, powerpoint, excel, movies, jpeg, TIFF, bmp wav, mp3, mpeg, avi, jpeg, PSD and CDR.

There are different versions of the software so you will need to ensure you have the right version for your data recovery problem.

If you require any assistance while using the software, you can reach them by email, chat or telephone.  The chat and telephone support is available 24 hours for 5 working days. You can equally request a call back if you wish.
