The Good: Attractive design and great build quality are the main selling points of this backpack from North Face. It is light and comfortable enough for daily use, and it has a laptop compartment.
The Bad: It's a bit overpriced for what it offers, but that extra cost can be attributed to the above average quality.
The Verdict: If you're looking for a backpack to carry around every day, Recon is a good option even considering its price.
North Face Unisex Recon backpack is made for everyday use as well as light traveling. It easy to pack and has enough compartments for you to fit just about anything. It's a light and versatile day pack that you won't feel during constant use. It's priced a bit high for its intended purpose, but we thing it's definitely worth the extra cost.
Recon backpack features a reasonably familiar design we are all used to seeing in regular backpacks. The only difference is the proven build quality and a few additional features. The main material used on the Recon is the 210D Cordura nylon mini-ripstop fabric, which is known for its tear and wear resistance. Upon quick inspection it becomes apparent that manufacturer's primary concern was the aesthetics of the backpack, and not necessarily the functionality. This is especially true for the exterior.
While it may not have too many compartments on the outside, Recon offers basic interior layout that works perfectly for its intended use. There is a fleeced laptop compartment that will keep your computer well protected, and several designated pockets for smaller electronics and accessories. The outside also sports a reflecting loop that increases your visibility in low light conditions. North Face Recon is a smaller backpack which makes it great for everyday use, but definitely not for more serious applications such as hiking.
Dimensions: 22" x 15" x 4"

North Face Recon is a stylish and well made backpack for daily use that will keep your stuff safe, is comfortable enough for frequent use, and comes with a lifetime warranty. However, outside from that it doesn't offer a lot in terms of functionality or innovative design. This would be alright if it was priced a bit lower, but at this price range you would expect a bit more bang for the buck.
