Why is Lenovo ThinkPad 11e Ultrabook a decent student laptop choice under $500?

This little laptop is a beast for its price and size. Sure, it's not as impressive as HP's Pavilion X360 11.6 that shares the same form factor and doubles as a tablet, but it's not bad either.

The built in processor from AMD is decent in most cases, but it gets a bit sluggish when several applications are running. If you choose to swap the built-in HDD for an SSD, you'll get a much better performance out of this little computer.

The keyboard is pretty comfortable to use, which is an important factor for college students, as you'll probably write a lot of papers during your studies. The screen is bright, but it's far from impressive.
